Cloud computing is being viewed by many as an ‘information utility’ technology that is changing business relationships from a vendor/user to provider/consumer, much like a utility. And much like a utility there are a number of models depending on the audience:
- Management business model — “All that matters are results… I don't care how it's done. I don't want to own assets; I want to pay for on-demand use, like a utility”
- User access model — “I want accessibility from anywhere, anytime, from any device”
- IT model — “It's about economies of scale with effective and dynamic sharing of IT resources”
